The collector-focused hypercar will launch this summer.
It's hard to believe that five years have passed since Automobili Pininfarina became its own car company, and to mark the occasion, the automaker will launch its next “limited edition hyper GT.” The wording in the company's release makes this sound like a fresh model, not a Battista with a special paint job, but there's a lot we don't know.
“We are committed to delighting even more clients in future, and our team is excited to present the first in a series of spectacular new cars we have prepared for our growing client community this summer,” said Automobili Pininfarina CEO Paolo Dellacha. “We will showcase a new dimension of our design creativity while honoring the legacy of the Pininfarina name.
The company only shared a single image of the vehicle hiding under a car cover. There's a number “01” on the front, but we don't know what it alludes to. Pininfarina will reveal the car later this summer, and our guesses as to what it may be range from Pininfarina Battista convertible to a new coachbuilt limited edition car on the same platform (similar to how the Bugatti Divo rode on the Chiron platform).
The Battista rides on the same underpinnings as the Rimac Nevera, meaning it's one of the most bonkers performance cars in the world. In fact, the 1,877-horsepower EV recently set a record as the quickest car in the world, crossing the quarter-mile in just 8.55 seconds.
Along with the announcement of a new model, Pininfarina also revealed some management changes. Andrea Crespi is promoted to CTO, and Andrea Novello is promoted to COO.

“This is an incredibly exciting moment of evolution for Automobili Pininfarina, as we enhance our technical vision and prepare to broaden our portfolio of luxury electric vehicles,” Crespi said after being promoted from his previous role as ePowertrain and High Voltage Systems Director.
“I am highly motivated to be part of this great new team as we build a bright future for the company, striving to provide an impeccable ownership experience for our valued clients from start to finish,” said Novello, who previously served as Production Director and worked at Maserati before coming to Pininfarina in 2018. “My team and I are proud to be crafting an exceptional luxury car in Battista today, and we are ready to bring our incredible brand and the next in a series of incredible pure-electric vehicles to our customers this year.”
