The Picasso 660 LMS has been developed squarely with “the track as the natural environment” however the startup wanted to ensure the interior was still comfortable enough for use on a daily basis. In typical race car fashion, it comes with six-point racing harnesses, an adjustable ABS system, traction control modes and a bespoke carbon fibre steering wheel. So it is not exactly as plush as your Mercedes SUV but compromises have to be made when the whole thing only tips the scales at a feathery 980 kg.
The platform is made up of “an unprecedented level” of carbon fibre and aluminium while the exterior boasts the longest carbon fibre panel ever used for a car. The model built in San Vittore has been developed from the ground up although the 3,0-litre twin-turbocharged V6 motor has been supplied by Autotecnica Motori, an Italian company that specialises in the development and production of competition engines. This means that it comes with some serious power. 600 hp (485 kW) to be exact while its 720 N.m channelled through the six-speed sequential Sadev gearbox should mean it is capable of some brutal acceleration too.
To ensure all of these numbers are put to good use, Picasso Automotive ran countless CFD simulations and wind tunnel testing on the 600 LMS which enabled it to achieve 960 kg of maximum downforce at 315 km/h. A closer look at the exterior alludes to the why; a large front splitter and rear manually operated wing, flat floor and massive diffuser suck this masterpiece closer to the ground the faster it begins to go.
When it needs to scrub its speed, it makes use of Brembo six-piston calipers up front and four-piston calipers at the rear with Pirelli P Zero Trofeo R tyres on the 19-inch rims up front and 20-inch rims at the back.
Only 21 units will be produced with a whopping price tag of €820 000 before taxes. The two dozen buyers will start receiving their models by the second half of next year.
