Hockey legend Jaromir Jagr couldn’t stickhandle his way around a Prague tram.
The 50-year-old former Pittsburgh Penguins star said on Instagram he “thought it was my end” after crashing his electric Kia EV6 into a packed tram in the Czech Republic.
Miraculously, Jagr was able to climb out of his car following the crash, noting that “nothing happened to the passengers on the tram.”
He wrote: “It was my fault. On Plzeňská, I tried to cross from one direction to another. I checked the other side and drove into it at the right time. But there was a lot of traffic and I didn’t have time to react to the tram, which was going at high speed in the same direction as me.”
However, one Czech media outlet said Jagr had a minor injury to one of his hands and was spotted by bystanders limping as he emerged from an ambulance. He refused to go to the hospital and reports said alcohol tests done at the scene came back negative.
Jagr said on Tuesday that he looked forward to moving on from the “sad event” before thanking “everyone for their understanding and also for their help to those who intervened on the spot.”
