The setting was the second day of Auto Expo 2023. NEXA took the covers of an all-new vehicle that made the SUV world sit up and take notice.
The futuristic vehicle revealed that day was FRONX – The Shape of the New that stands out from its competitors by ditching the boxy shape that has defined them since they first got that title.

FRONX features a large NEXWave grille sporting the large Suzuki badge that is connected to the triple NEXTre’ LED DRLs that look like a trio of ice cubes sitting on the edges of the broad front end of the latest Maruti Suzuki SUV. Flanking either side of the grille are the diamond-shaped triple LED Headlamps that sit in their own enclosures.
The lower section of the front bumper features a silver bash plate and cladding that extends out to the sides and then goes around the wheel arches to the rear bumper and gives the FRONX a more rugged look. The wheel arches host the geometric precision cut alloy wheels which ramp up the style factor.
The sides of the FRONX also sport its most eye-catching design highlight – the sloping, aerodynamic and sporty roofline. The sloping roofline is also reflected in the stretched rear three-quarter glass that gives the window panels a unique leaf-like look.
At the rear, the roof of the FRONX sports an integrated spoiler that adds to the sporty nature of the latest SUV from NEXA. The raked rear windscreen enhances the sporty look of the SUV.
The Suzuki badge can be found above the most striking feature of the FRONX’s rear section, its taillights. These Rear Connected Lights (RCL) give FRONX a very premium look and stretch across the width of the SUV. Lower down on the rear bumper you find a large silver bash plate that once again tells the FRONX’s new-age SUV story to the world.
Step inside the all-new NEXA FRONX and you are greeted by the classy cabin of the SUV which really enhances its sporty and premium looks. Under the broad bonnet of the FRONX are two powerful and smooth engine options. The first of these is the 1.2-litre K12C Dual-Jet, Dual-VVT petrol engine that produces 88.5bhp and 113Nm of peak torque and is offered with either a 5-speed manual gearbox or a 5-speed AGS automatic. The K12C engine also comes with auto start-stop that helps enhance fuel efficiency.
For those looking for a bit more oomph, the FRONX is offered with a 1.0-litre Turbo Boosterjet Engine. This small but powerful three-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine gets direct fuel injection and pushes out 98.7bhp at 5,500rpm and 147.6Nm of peak torque from 2,000rpm to 4,500rpm. The Boosterjet Engine comes with Maruti Suzuki’s Smart Hybrid technologyand is offered with either a 5-speed manual gearbox or a 6-speed torque converter automatic with Paddle Shifters.
