Danish hypercar manufacturer Zenvo Automotive has announced an all-new model ahead of its August reveal
Just a few months since the low-drag TSR-GT broke cover, Zenvo Automotive has announced an all-new V12 hybrid hypercar called the Aurora. Based on a new platform set to underpin Zenvo’s future lineup, the Aurora is said to target engagement over outright numbers, and just 100 units will be produced following its August reveal.
At the Aurora’s core is a new carbon monocoque, which is modular in design to allow for future adaptations and features carbon subframes for weight saving and increased rigidity. Further details will be announced closer to its launch, but Zenvo has revealed that it has formed a number of ‘high-profile’ partnerships for the project, a move that it hopes will see it become a global brand in the coming years.
Despite the industry’s downsizing trend, the Aurora adopts a bigger engine than previous Zenvos, moving from a 5.8-litre twin-supercharged V8 to a bespoke 6-litre twin-turbocharged V12. Paired with an in-house gearbox featuring integrated hybrid drive, it will also mark the first time the firm has utilised an electrified powertrain. Performance stats are still under wraps, but for reference, the latest TSR-GT produces 1360bhp for a 263mph top speed, targeting the likes of the Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut and McLaren Speedtail with its low-drag design.
Each of the 100 Aurora buyers will be able to opt for either Agil or Tur specification, the former offering track-focus with more aggressive aero with the latter tailored for the road with a 249mph top speed. Unlike some models in the segment, though, Zenvo claims that both variants will focus more on engagement than headline numbers alone.
Zenvo’s chief commercial officer and chairman of the board, Jens Sverdrup, said: 'It is a remarkable honour to direct our growing team, as we undertake the most exciting phase in the history of the company. This car has come from the passion that runs deep in the Zenvo family and very much aligns with our ethos of ‘smiles per mile’. 2023 is going to be a truly exciting year.'
Just 100 Zenvo Aurora models will be sold in total, with more than 30 already accounted for. The model’s reveal will come this August before first customer cars are delivered around the globe.
