By partnering with Nvidia, Lucid appears to be going in a diverse path than what it initially announced. The automaker initially revealed a system created with former Tesla supplier Mobileye.
Beyond the application platform, Lucid’s inclusion of lidar is considerable. Most automakers view lidar as needed for higher levels of automation.
Lucid claimed that the Air was the first United States-market model with lidar. Internationally, Xpeng has been one particular of the 1st. It’s also an Nvidia companion.
Meanwhile, Tesla continues to let some shoppers to test hands-free city-driving capabilities, working with mainly camera sensors and no lidar.
