Fast coupe to get edition inspired by northern Japanese island
Lexus has produced a new limited-run Hokkaido Edition version of its LC sports car for Europe that takes inspiration from Japan’s most northern island.
Announcing it will make just 80 LCs in total, the allocation will be made up of 40 coupe and 40 convertibles.
Famed for its volcanoes, the northern Hokkaido Island is also the location for many Japanese car-maker’s cold-weather testing and Lexus Shibetsu proving ground that most famously made the LFA supercar.
Available in Flare Red, Sonic Platinum, F White or Graphite, all Hokkaido models come with 21-inch rims and an exclusive black grille. LED headlights and afterburner-style taillights are also present, while the convertible can be specified with either a bright red or black fabric roof.
Inside, the cabin is said to be volcano-themed, with black leather combined with dark rose-coloured transmission tunnel, driver console and driver’s door card.
The passenger side of the cabin, meanwhile, has a darker, moodier black finish that claimed to be ‘more calming’.
Under the bonnet the Lexus LC Hokkaido Edition is available with either the 351kW/540Nm naturally-aspirated 5.0-litre V8 or the 264kW/350Nm 3.5-litre V6 petrol-electric hybrid.
On sale in Europe from April 2022 there’s no word yet on pricing, nor if the special might be offered in the Australian market.
