Apple iPhones will be able to identify car symbols via an improved feature.
Considering car dashboards have plenty of symbols, learning all of them can be overwhelming for some drivers, especially new ones. Good thing we have companies like Apple that continue developing new features capable of assisting users in their daily lives.
In the upcoming iOS 17 update, the Visual Lookup feature will be improved to recognize car symbols. Visual Lookup is a native tool available with iPhones used to identify various objects such as landmarks, art, and plants, providing information instantly through Siri Knowledge. The newest update will allow Apple users to learn more about car symbols with a touch of their fingertips.

Looking at a photo posted by a Reddit user, the feature could be accessed by clicking the steering wheel icon at the bottom of the screen of a car symbol picture saved on the Photos app.
Siri will suggest informative websites for users to learn more about the car symbol they took a picture of. Multiple symbols in one photo could be searched.
Also coming in iOS 17 are the updated Maps and SharePlay. The new Maps will be capable of running offline, meaning a data connection won't be necessary. It will allow users to discover electric vehicle (EV) charging stations, as well as thousands of trails in parks across the United States.

Meanwhile, the new SharePlay will make road trips more convenient as it will allow multiple devices to queue songs in one session. The California-based tech giant said users won't need an Apple Music subscription to join the music-sharing experience. For companies like Ford, which will retain Apple CarPlay in its popular cars like the F-150, this is good news.
The competition has also been developing its in-car technologies to be at the top of the game. Apple's rival, Google, is taking infotainment systems up a notch via the Google Built-in, providing features such as HD Map, YouTube, and gaming. Cars such as the Chevrolet Suburban, Volvo EX90, and Honda Accord get this system.
Apple is expected to launch iOS 17 this coming September.
