Limited edition Iconic Edition brings luxury touches to mid-sized Renault SUV
RENAULT has announced its Koleos Iconic Edition for Australia this week, the two- and all-wheel drive limited edition SUV capped at just 400 units for the local market.
Sitting atop the Koleos range – and priced from $48,990 plus on-road costs – the Iconic Edition builds on the already strong equipment levels found in the Koleos Intens with a choice of Sand Grey or Black Nappa leather upholstery, standard metallic paint (including a new Amethyst Black hue), 19-inch Initiale Paris alloy wheels, side steps, floor mats, model-specific badging and a French flag on the B-pillars.
Further, the Koleos Iconic Edition offers key equipment, including electrically adjustable front seats with driver massage function, heated and ventilated front seats, a panoramic sunroof, 8.7-inch portrait-style infotainment screen, satellite navigation, 7.0-inch digital instrument panel, twin USB ports front and rear, a powered handsfree tailgate, rear-seat ventilation outlets, dusk sensing headlights with automatic high beam, and handsfree parking assistant.
As offered elsewhere in the range, the Iconic Edition is powered by Renault’s 2.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine delivering 126kW at 6000rpm and 226Nm at 4400rpm. Both front- and all-wheel drive variants are equipped with an X-tronic continuously variable transmission.

Like others in the range, the Renault Koleos Iconic Edition is backed by a five-year / unlimited-kilometre warranty with five years’ roadside assistance and capped-price servicing bundle, the latter costing $2750 over the term.
The Renault Koleos competes in the hard-fought Medium SUV under $60K segment locally, where it rivals such players as the Hyundai Tucson (from $34,900 +ORC), Mazda CX-5 (from $35,510 +ORC) and Toyota RAV4 (from $38,050 +ORC).
Vfacts sales data shows Renault has sold just 1516 examples of the Koleos to the end of May this year, placing it in thirteenth place in the segment – and well behind the Toyota RAV4 (10,665 units), Mazda CX-5 (9795), Mitsubishi Outlander (9718) and Hyundai Tucson (8082).
