We got our first glimpse at the updated 2023 Hyundai Palisade yesterday, and now its corporate sibling, the wildly popular 2023 Kia Telluride, is also primed to get an updated look, both inside and out, at the upcoming New York International Auto Show.
The three-row SUV is one of Kia’s fastest and biggest sellers, with 93,705 Tellurides finding new homes in the U.S. last year alone, and more than 227,400 units being sold since it went on sale in 2019. Kia says the updated model will get “bold new design elements inside and out” through an expanded lineup of trim options. That’s supposed to include a new X-Pro trim, which is currently available on the Sorento but was predicted for the Telluride in a recent trademark filing.
We expect the new Telluride X-Pro to get more off-road oriented drive-mode selection options (normal, sport, smart, and snow) like the Sorento, as well as BFGoodrich all-season tires, 20-inch black wheels, and a small suspension lift over the other trim options. If we’re getting an X-Pro, we’d also expect an X-Line trim that adopts some the look of the X-Pro without the hardware changes, like two-tone roof paintwork, LED fog lights, and the black wheels.
We can make out new, dual-vertical DRLs in the headlights and a reworked fascia and bumper from the exterior teaser image above that will come to the entire Telluride lineup. There will be some major changes inside, as well, previewed in the second teaser image provided by Kia. We see a new, very large expanded infotainment screen that now stretches the length of the dashboard, now seemingly functioning as the driver info screen as well.
The full suite of upgrades and changes will be announced when the 2023 Kia Telluride debuts at the New York International Auto Show on April 13.
