The sleek EV6 is based on the same platform as the Ioniq5 and will be a full import (CBU)
Kia Motors is bringing blockbuster cars to the Indian market. Starting with the Seltos, Sonet and the latest Carens, it looks like Kia Motors understands the Indian market quite well. Kia now plans to bring its first-ever electric car to the growing Indian market by the middle of this year.
According to ACI, Kia will announce the price of the EV6 by June 2022. It will be a CBU import, which means that the car will be quite expensive. The EV6 is built on the advanced Hyundai e-GMP platform that is not available with any other car in the Indian market yet.
Kia EV6 is loaded with features
The EV6 will compete with the likes of Hyundai Ioniq5
Since Kia will import the car, there will be no changes in the vehicle for the Indian market. It will come with full-LED lighting systems and all the lamps used in the car are low-power LEDs.
The Kia EV6 also gets dual displays inside the car. There are two 12.3-inch displays. There is a separate augmented reality head-up display as well. Kia will offer radar-based ADAS features and smartphones connectivity as well.
But it will be a fully-imported model
Kia sells the EV6 in four variants in the international markets. However, we are likely to see only the top-end fully-loaded version of the EV6 in the Indian market.
What powers the Kia EV6?

The base variants of the EV6 get the 58 kWh battery pack while the high-end variants get the 77.4 kWh battery pack. There is only a single motor in the car that develops a maximum power of 168 kW or about 225 Bhp. The torque output peaks at 350 Nm. It is an RWD car.
Kia EV6 claims a range of 528 km on a combined cycle and 739 km inside the city. The EV6 can hit a top speed of 183 km/h and can do 0-100 km/h in just 7.3 seconds.

Kia is yet to make an official announcement on the arrival of the Kia EV6. Interestingly, the Hyundai Ioniq5 is also around the corner. It is likely to arrive before the Kia EV6 in the Indian market.
