Images of what could be the facelifted 2024 Kia Sorento have leaked online, giving us a glimpse of what to expect from the updated seven-seat SUV.
First going on sale in 2020, the fourth-generation Sorento is due for a midlife update, especially considering that Korean-made vehicles typically have a five-year lifecycle.
The upgrades will likely be welcomed by Kia buyers as rivals such as the Nissan Pathfinder, Toyota Kluger and the inbound Hyundai Santa Fe compete alongside it in the large SUV segment.

New design and interior technology
Adopting the same front-end design language as other Kia models such as the full-electric EV9 large SUV and the recently facelifted Kia Picanto hatch, the updated Sorento will seemingly use vertical LED headlights with integrated daytime running lights.
It appears to be a significant design change compared to the current-generation Sorento which uses horizontal lights and grille shape instead.

At the rear, the new images show that things haven’t changed as drastically, with very similar vertical, slatted LED tail lights featuring like before.
Looking at the sole picture of the interior, things have been tweaked here, too. A large panel comprising two screens is clearly visible, with the centralised touchscreen likely to be now at least 12.3-inches in diameter –up from 10.25-inches in the current top-spec GT-Line
The central air vents have also been redesigned to accommodate the change in screen size.

All finer specification details are expected to come to light when the car is officially announced by Kia Australia.
If these are indeed official images that have been leaked, the Kia Sorento could be officially revealed in the coming weeks or months, before going on sale sometime next year.
What other changes can we expect for Sorento?
Along with visible interior technology, it’s likely we will see a small price bump in line with these updates.
The current-generation Kia Sorento HEV GT-Line
It’s very likely that the facelifted Kia Sorento will have very limited changes to its engine lineup. Expect that the 2.2-litre turbo-diesel engine and 3.5-litre petrol V6 engine will continue to power the Sorento.
Kia Australia has previously said it will continue to sell diesel engines for its Sorento until around 2025.
The 1.6-litre turbocharged hybrid and plug-in hybrid setups are also likely to remain in the Australian lineup for 2024.
The Kia Sorento is unlikely to change its powertrains for 2024
