Kia Seltos facelift interior spied; top-trims to get dual zone climate controls

The Kia Seltos facelift will be unveiled in India on July 4, and the interior of the midsize SUV has been spotted for the first time. The new model has already been introduced for the worldwide market, and we anticipate that the same improvements will be made for the India-spec vehicle. Kia Seltos Facelift: Interior and Features

The latest Seltos spy images reveal the SUV’s reworked centre console for the first time. We can also confirm that the revised SUV will include dual-zone temperature control for the top variants rather than the standard single-zone device that is available currently.

Kia has also replaced the temperature dial with buttons on each side of the display. The HVAC panel still has a temperature display, but it is smaller than the previous Seltos.

The facelifted Seltos is also rumoured to include two displays, one for the touchscreen infotainment system and the other for the digital driver’s display. A panoramic sunroof will replace the previous single-pane element on the Seltos facelift. Previous spy pictures show a square module positioned in the front bumper, implying that Kia would include an ADAS suite in the facelift.

Kia Seltos Facelift: Design

The mid-cycle facelift for the Seltos does not bring a plethora of significant changes, but a few major design updates. The Seltos facelift gets a new face with a redesigned grille, headlights, daytime driving lights, bumper, and bonnet. The vertically stacked LED fog lamps appear similar to the on-sale model. At the back, the most significant update comes in the form of tweaked taillights with a spilt connecting light bar. There is also a new rear bumper.

Kia Seltos Facelift: Powertrain

Although the powertrain specs are unknown, we anticipate that the Seltos facelift will be powered by the same 1.5-litre NA petrol engine and 1.5-litre diesel engine as the current model. The vehicle may also include a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine, which will effectively replace the 1.4-litre engine available with the mid-size SUV before its BS6 Phase 2 upgrade. This new engine is already available with the Kia Carens, Hyundai Verna, and Hyundai Alcazar.

Transmission options include a six-speed manual, iMT, CVT automatic, and torque-converter automatic.

The prices of the current model range between Rs 10.89 lakh and Rs 19.65 lakh (both ex-showroom). However, with a host of new updates and features, the 2023 Seltos facelift is likely to command a higher premium.
