South Korean carmaker Kia has revealed the facelifted Seltos SUV in India. The 2023 Kia Seltos brings with it a host of changes inside and out and adds a brand new powerplant option under the bonnet while adding a lot more tech.
Bookings for the Kia Seltos will start for all customers on the 15th of July, However, exisiting Seltos owners looking to upgrade will get priority K-Code booking starting a day before along with priority delivery.
The facelifted 2023 Kia Seltos is offered with a choice of three engine options – two petrol and one diesel. The facelifted SUV retains its 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engines and adds the 1.5-litre turbo petrol from the Carens MPV.
The new 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine produces 158bhp and 253Nm of peak torque. This is quite a bit more than the naturally-aspirated 1.5-litre powerplant that pushes out 113bhp and 144Nm of peak torque.
The 1.5-litre turbo diesel engine, on the other hand, churns out 114bhp and 250Nm of peak torque. The engines will be offered with multiple transmission options: 6-speed manual, 6-speed iMT, dual-clutch automatics and an iVT.’
Moving onto the design, the facelifted Kia Seltos looks quite a bit different from the SUV that arrived on our shores. At the front, the updated SUV features a new grille along with redesigned LED DRLs that almost stretch across the aforementioned grille. The bumper, too, has been reworked.
The sides of the Seltos remain mostly untouched except for the updated alloy wheels. At the rear, the taillights now feature a connecting lightbar element. The rear bumper design will vary depending on the chosen variant, with the X Line getting a more sporty look.
Step inside the facelifted Kia Seltos, and you’ll be greeted by a heavily reworked cabin. The dual-connected displays on the dashboard are brand new and are directed towards the driver.
The one behind the steering wheel shows off the instrumentation, while the one on the left is the new touchscreen infotainment unit. The infotainment screen supports Android Auto and Apple Carplay and connected car tech.
The new Kia Seltos also brings with other features like dual-zone automatic air conditioning system, a panoramic sunroof, and wireless charging among others.
The facelifted Kia Seltos SUV also brings with it a host of safety tech, including six airbags, ABS with EBD, Brake Assist, Electronic Stability Control, Traction Control, Hill Descent Control and Hill Hold Control, among others.
The 2023 Kia Seltos also gets a host of ADAS features that bring the safety levels up to a whole new level with 17 driver aids. These include adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, blind spot collision warning and forward collision avoidance assist among others.
