The driver of the Kia Forte involved in a high-speed accident along MRR2 claims that he wasn’t aware that he was driving recklessly before he crashed into three other vehicles.
According to Ampang Jaya district police chief Asst Comm Mohamad Farouk Eshak, the accident happened at 10.05 am on Saturday, 19-March-2022.
He told the media that initial investigations revealed that the Kia Forte driver had lost control when he tried to avoid another vehicle before crashing into the back of a Proton Wira.
The car then spun into a Honda Stepwgn Spada before coming to a stop on the left lane of the highway.
Due to the nature of the accident, the driver sustained heavy injuries and was rushed to the Ampang Hospital for treatment. The drivers of other vehicles involved were unhurt.
Mohamad Farouk told the media that the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) has already collected a blood sample from the Kia Forte driver. They are currently waiting for a toxicology result from the relevant department.
The case will be investigated under Section 42 (1) of the Road Transport Act (1987) for reckless driving.
