Hyundai Launches Venue Cargo for Frugal Business Support
Hyundai SA is expanding its business support vehicle range with the addition of the Venue Cargo, which joins the Grand i10 Cargo.
Based on the refreshed base Motion trim level introduced in 2022, the Venue Cargo does away with the rear seats to make up more space at the rear. The payload is rated at 500 kg, which should be enough for a business support vehicle to prove its worth.
For added safety, Hyundai has added a steel mesh or grid between the front seats and cargo area and smaller steel grids on the rear side window openings.
Visually, the Venue Cargo doesn’t look all that different from the regular passenger models. It comes with 15” steel wheel rims with stylish covers and wears the Polar White exterior shade.
Moving inside, the Venue Cargo is all about space, and with that said, it features a cargo area that measures 1,200 mm in length, 1,200 mm in width and 900 mm in height and a 1,296-litre boot space behind the front seats.
It has an 8” touchscreen audio system that accepts Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. There are USB ports, a 4.2” TFT LCD, a rearview camera and a manual air conditioner.
Powering the Venue Cargo is a naturally aspirated 1.2-litre 4-cylinder petrol engine with 61 kW and 115 Nm. A 5-speed manual transmission drives the front wheels.
Safety comes in the form of two front airbags and three-point seatbelts with pre-tensioners and force limiters, ABS, EBD and Brake Assist.
Priced at R329,900, the Hyundai Venue Cargo should make for a viable solution for businesses seeking a business support vehicle that is compact and safe. The pricing includes a 7-year/200,000 km warranty, a 7-year/150,000 km roadside assistance and a 3-year/45,000 km service plan.
