Hyundai will open pre-orders in Germany, the UK, France, Norway and the Netherlands on Nov. 9 at 10 a.m. CET for a limited-edition First Edition of 2,500 units of the Ioniq 6 with the 77.4 kWh battery.
Deliveries of this model variant are scheduled to take place between March and April 2023. It is not yet known how expensive the electric sedan will be on the mainland, however, Hyundai has already communicated the price for the British market: There, the Ioniq 6 First Edition will cost 54,995 pounds (around 63,430 euros).
Hyundai points out that the exact reservation process may vary by country – interested parties should therefore visit their local Hyundai website for more information. Only one vehicle can be reserved per customer on a “first come, first served” basis.
Technically, the First Edition is not the model with the longest range – the combination of the large battery and rear-wheel drive comes to up to 614 kilometres WLTP range. Instead, Hyundai has chosen the most powerful variant, the 225 kW all-wheel drive, for the special model.
As a First Edition, the Ioniq 6 will feature a number of standalone design elements inside and out. The 20-inch wheels are finished in matte black, along with gloss black trim on the front, rear and side, as well as gloss black mirror caps and brand logos in black aluminum.
When it comes to the paint, those interested will have a choice of several colors, including Biophilic Blue Pearl, Serenity White Pearl, Nocturne Grey Metallic and Gravity Gold Matte. Inside, there will be seats with a mixed cover of leather with gray tartan fabric, among others, as presented in the Prophecy study.
Also, for the sales launch of the first model based on the E-GMP, the Ioniq 5, there was initially only a limited special model. The Ioniq 5 “Project 45” was limited to 3,000 units – within a week, 236,000 interested parties had registered at the time.
