Hyundai Motor India launched the much-awaited Hyundai Ioniq 5 at the Auto Expo 2023 and the South Korean automaker has already received more than 650 bookings for its flagship model in India.
That being said, the deliveries of the new Hyundai Ioniq 5 is said to commence next month and the first 500 customers of the Ioniq 5 can get the vehicle for a special introductory price of Rs 44.95 lakh (ex-showroom, India).
At present, bookings for the Hyundai Ioniq 5 is open and interested customers can book the EV online or at a Hyundai dealership for Rs 1 lakh. However, the South Korean automaker is yet to announce the updated price for the Ioniq 5 in India.
Speaking about the Hyundai Ioniq 5, the electric vehicle is built on the same Electric-Global Modular Platform (e-GMP) as the Kia EV6. However, unlike the fully-imported Kia EV6, the Hyundai Ioniq 5 is fully assembled in India. This is one of the reasons for the huge price difference between these EVs.
In terms of powertrain, the Hyundai Ionq 5 comes equipped with a 72.6kWh battery pack and an electric motor capable of producing 215bhp of peak power and 350Nm of peak torque. According to ARAI, Hyundai Ioniq 5 in this powertrain setup can cover 631 kilometres on a fully charged battery pack.
It is also worth mentioning that the Hyundai Ioniq 5 supports 80V charging. As a result, the South Korean EV can charge from 10 per cent to 80 per cent of its battery capacity in just 18 minutes. Furthermore, the Hyundai Ioniq 5 also comes with ADAS and a vehicle-to-load function with an output of 3.6kW.
