Ahead of the launch of the Hyundai Exter in India, the interior images of the Exter SUV have been leaked online. These leaked images of the Exter SUV reveal plenty of details as well.
Looking at the leaked images, we can confirm that the Hyundai Exter SUV’s dashboard resembles that of the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios hatchback. However, a fully digital instrument cluster takes place of the analogue instrument cluster.
The similarities further continue with a sporty-looking multi-function 3-spoke steering wheel, aluminium finish inner door handles, rectangular AC vents below the infotainment unit, pair of circular AC vents on either side of the dashboard and a similar climate control unit as well.
This is not surprising considering the upcoming Hyundai Exter SUV and the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios hatchback are built on the same platform. This not only saves plenty of development costs but also improves the serviceability of the model.
Recently, Hyundai roped in cricket icon Hardik Pandya as the brand ambassador for the Exter SUV. With this move, Hyundai India could be planning to attract more Gen Z customers.
Speaking about the Hyundai Exter, the model will be positioned below the Hyundai Venue SUV and compete against the likes of Tata Punch, and Citroen C3. Apart from that, Hyundai India has already commenced the bookings for the upcoming Exter SUV at Rs 11,000.
Powering the Hyundai Exter SUV is familiar a 1.2-litre, naturally-aspirated engine that powers other Hyundai models such as the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios. This engine has been recently updated to comply with the BS6 Phase 2 emission norms and newer E20 fuel.
This 1.2-litre, naturally-aspirated engine is expected to put out 82bhp and 113.8Nm of torque. On top of that, gearbox options in the upcoming Exter SUV include a 5-speed manual transmission and a 5-speed AMT gearbox.
Some of the highlighting features of the upcoming Hyundai Exter SUV include an electric sunroof, in-built dashcam with full-HD recording, multiple drive modes, smartphone connectivity, connected car tech, 25 standard safety features and more.
That being said, the Hyundai Exter SUV will be made available in 5 trim levels – EX, S, SX, SX(O), and SX(O) Connect. Furthermore, the upcoming Hyundai Exter SUV will also be available with a CNG-compatible powertrain.
Though Hyundai is yet to reveal the prices of the Exter SUV, we expect the model to come with a starting price tag of just below Rs 6 lakh. This will ensure the upcoming micro-SUV undercuts its main competitors and this is likely to attract more customers.
