One of the first products of Hyundai’s new performance division.
Shown in North America for the first time in Detroit, the 2019 Hyundai Elantra GT N Line will be coming to the Canadian International Auto Show next month.
This is the first N Line model stated for North America and is part of Hyundai’s new product offensive that also includes the i30 Fastback, i30 N and Veloster N.
Replacing the Elantra GT Sport, it is a sportier take including a lower front spoiler for improved aero efficiency along with the N Line version of the signature cascading grille.
At the side, blacked out side mirrors with turn signals, N Line badging, N Line 18-inch wheels and Michelin Pilot Sport 4 225/40 R18 summer tires change the profile of the car. At the rear, the unique bumper fascia further accentuates the N theme.
Inside, are a leather-wrapped and perforated steering wheel with metallic spokes and N Line leather seating with red stitching with N logo with power lumbar and extendable seat cushions.
It is powered by a 1.6-litre, turbo, direct injection inline four-cylinder engine producing 201 hp and 195 lb/ft of torque.
There is a choice between a six-speed manual or seven-speed dual clutch automatic transmission.
The suspension is retuned and the steering recalibrated for an enhanced sporty feel along with larger brakes.
It is equipped with a full suite of driver/safety aids such as forward collision avoidance, smart cruise control with start/stop capability, high beam assist, lane keeping assist and driver attention warning.
The Elantra GT N Line features electronic push button starting and proximity key entry as standard.
