So what is the biggest talking point of the new Hyundai Alcazar Petrol? Well, that comes in the form of the new turbocharged powerplant under the bonnet. Replacing the old 2.0-litre naturally aspirated engine is a turbocharged 1.5-litre unit which is compliant with both the new RDE emission norms and the upcoming E20 blended fuel.
The new 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol is the same one found on the upcoming Verna and Creta. The forced induction petrol engine of the new Alcazar is rated at 158bhp and 253Nm of peak torque.
The new engine is paired with either a 6-speed manual or 7-speed DCT auto gearbox options. The new Alacazar’s turbo petrol engine comes equipped with auto start/stop and delivers a mileage of 17.5km/l (manual) and 18km/l (automatic).
The updated Alcazar retains its 1.5-litre diesel engine which has been updated for RDE emission norms compliance. The diesel engine is rated at 114bhp and 250Nm and comes paired with 6-speed manual and automatic gearbox options.
The updated Hyundai Alcazar for 2023 has got a few design tweaks and an updated feature list. The new updated SUV gets a new front grille, puddle lamps with the Alcazar logo and turbo badges for the new petrol models.
The new Hyundai Alcazar also features a 10.25-inch infotainment touchscreen, automatic climate control and a wireless phone charger. The updated SUV now gets airbags as standard and continues to offer safety kit like all-wheel disc brakes, TPMS, 360-degree camera and cruise control among others.
Thoughts About The New Hyundai Alcazar
The new Hyundai Alcazar for 2023 drops the 2.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol in favour of a smaller yet powerful 1.5-litre petrol powerplant that meets new emission norms and can run on blended fuels. With a starting price point of Rs 16.75 Lakh, the Alcazar is slightly dearer than before but still offers good value for money for those looking for a 7-seater SUV at that pricepoint.
