We take a look at the Honda Fit model range to find out exactly how many airbags can be expected.
The Honda Fit is the first petrol-electric hybrid model to be offered locally by the Japanese automaker. However, it is only the flagship variant that comes fitted with the 80 kW and 253 Nm, 1.5-litre, hybrid, 4-cylinder petrol engine. The rest of the Fit derivatives, of which there are three, are motivated by an 89 kW and 145 Nm, 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine.
The compact hatch also gets a host of standard safety equipment, including ABS brakes with emergency brake assist, stability control and hill-start assist. ISOFIX mounting points also feature on the outer rear seats of the entire model range. Customers that chose the hybrid model further benefit from a lane-keeping assist system as standard.
Airbags
While commonly more affordable derivatives are sold with fewer airbags fitted than the more premium-priced variants, this is not the case with the Honda Fit range. Whether you choose the Comfort, Elegance, Executive or Hybrid derivative, the vehicle comes fitted as standard with no less than six airbags.
This includes front airbags for both the front passenger and driver as well as side airbags for each. The remaining two airbags take shape as curtain units for the rear occupants.
