Honda Malaysia has just announced the latest addition to its City Hatchback variant line-up, the V-Sensing, following a successful introduction of its sedan counterpart late last year.
The new Honda City Hatchback V-Sensing is now the range-topping petrol-powered model, slotting in between the V and RS e:HEV hybrid variants, priced at RM91,708 on-the-road, without insurance, and inclusive of the 100% SST exemption for locally-assembled models applicable until the 30th of June.
Also included in the price is a five-year unlimited-mileage warranty, and a five-times free labour offer for scheduled services.
For a mere RM3,848 over the regular V variant, the all-new City Hatchback V-Sensing variant comes equipped with the full suite of the Honda Sensing advanced driver assist (ADAS) features, which utilises a front wide view camera for the following functions:
Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC)Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS)Forward Collision Warning (FCW)Lane Keep Assist System (LKAS)Road Departure Mitigation (RDM)Lane Departure Warning (LDW)Auto High Beam (AHB)
Alongside the addition of the ADAS features, the V-Sensing variant also gains a new seven-inch semi-digital instrument cluster, as seen on the RS e:HEV variant. But aside from these changes though, the rest of its equipment list remains identical to the V variant, including the eight-inch touchscreen infotainment display, black leather upholstery, automatic climate control, Honda LaneWatch camera, and the signature Ultra seats.

For motivation, the Honda City Hatchback V-Sensing gets a 1.5-litre naturally-aspirated i-VTEC inline-four engine with an output rated at 121 hp and 145 Nm. The engine is paired to a CVT gearbox to send drive to the front wheels.

Honda Malaysia Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Hironobu Yoshimura said, “We introduced the City V-sensing variant to the City line-up in November 2021, and our record shows that it has been well accepted in its segment.
“For the first quarter of 2022, the City V-Sensing contributed 34% to the total City sales, which shows a positive trend for this variant and also the recognition of Honda Sensing, our advanced safety technology. We are now excited to introduce the V-Sensing variant to the All-New City Hatchback.”
