- The CBR 150R uses a 149 cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder DOHC, fuel-injected engine that produces about 16.09 bhp at 9,000 rpm and 13.7 Nm of peak torque at 7,000 rpm. The engine is paired to a six-speed gearbox. In comparison, the 155cc on the Yamaha R15 featuring VVA technology produces around 18.4 ps and 14 Nm of peak torque.
- The CBR 150R is underequipped than its rival, the R15 V4. The CBR 150R gets a slipper clutch and a front USD suspension setup from SHOWA but misses out on quickshifter, traction control, and Bluetooth connectivity which its rival offers. So Honda will have to price their upcoming sportsbike aggressively to attract the attention of Indian buyers.
- The CBR 150R produces slightly less power and weighs almost 2 kilograms more at 137 kilograms than its rival, the R15, which might hamper its performance.
- The CBR 150R features disc brakes on both ends for stopping and is offered with dual-channel ABS. The bike rides on 17-inch alloy wheels wrapped with 100/80 section tyres at the front and 130/70 section tyres at the rear.
