Honda K24-Swapped C6 Corvette Is Total Blasphemy
Unruly Motorsports wanted to do something a bit different to stand out, and it worked.
Dare to be Different
With the exception of models from the smog era, the Corvette has pretty much always come with a fantastic powerplant of some sort. And even the ones that were underpowered can easily be brought up to modern standards with something like an LS swap. However, YouTubers Unruly Motorsports wanted to do something a little bit different, and they achieved that by swapping a Honda K24 in their C6 Corvette.

Trading Eight for Four
The C6’s stock LS2 is obviously a great engine, but the K24 has a massive following over in the Honda world as well. The folks behind the build – Kevin Prescott and Austin Brown – have admittedly gotten a lot of backlash for what they’re doing, but they both love the turbocharged four-cylinder powerplant and also plan to take the car drag racing when it’s finished.

Making Changes
A few things had to be changed to make the four-banger work in the Corvette, including a Ford 8.8-inch rear end swap, while adjustable coilovers will be replacing the stock suspension components.

Power Potential
As for the engine itself, it obviously isn’t stock, either. Fitted with forged internals, it has an 11:1 compression ratio, but the big power adder is the 67mm turbo that will eventually feed up to 42 psi of boost into the powerplant. The crew at Unruly says that the little engine is capable of making upwards of 900 horsepower at the wheels, and it has already laid down 828 on 20 pounds.

Darn Quick
Those are obviously impressive numbers, and the K24 also weighs roughly 150 pounds less than the LS2 to boot. The car itself tips the scales at around 3,000 pounds, so it should be pretty darn quick, especially since a two-speed Powerglide transmission will be handling the shifts, er, shift.

Different Sound
One thing’s for sure – breathing through a side fender-exit exhaust, this C6 won’t sound like any other Corvette when it’s screaming to the redline at the track. A lot of people won’t like that, we won’t pile on Unruly for doing something different than the masses.

Lofty Goals
When this blasphemous Corvette is finished, the plan is to take it to Hot Rod’s Drag Week to prove its worth. But aside from proving that the car is good for road trips, Unruly hopes to also get it into the high six or low seven-second range, which is fast enough that no one will even care what sort of powerplant it has under the hood.
