This is the recreation of an Italian exotic based on a humble Japanese sedan
If you cannot buy your dream car, simply build one yourself! That’s the exact idea that the owner of this Honda Accord had. He always wanted a Maserati so he got one by transforming the sedan.

How did Honda Accord become Maserati GranCabrio?
The transformation job is done by Prateek Nagpal of Jaipur Jeeps definitely makes the Accord lose its identity completely. It is a convertible so the Accord loses the roof completely.
In the video, we can see that the front-end is completely new. The Maserati GranCabrio replica gets a new grille with vertical slats and the Maserati logo sits in the middle of the grille. The car also comes with good-looking curved headlamps with projector headlamps. While they do not look exactly like the original Maserati lamps but they do the job well.
A made in India Maserati GranCabrio?
The car also gets underbody skirting below the new front bumper and door panels as well. With the roof, the Honda Accord also loses its rear doors. It is now two-door and gets four seats inside. The alloy wheels look small for a Maserati.
The foldable roof for the convertible is made out of vinyl. The shape does look bit out of the place but we must appreciate the efforts. Making a foldable roof is not an easy job at all.
The final result is that the car bears little resemblance to the humble Accord that it is based on
The rear gets a few changes as well. New dual exhaust ports that now makes produce a deeper exhaust note go well with the design.
There are a few key changes inside the cabin as well. You’ll find Maserati badges all over along with mood ligting and carbon fiber wrap on the dash. The central AC vents try to mimic the real car. The engine and transmission remain the same, which is great as you’ll still have the legendary Japanese reliability on your side.
But Police can seize such cars
