The upcoming Honda Elevate SUV has made its official global debut in India. Also, according to the Japanese automaker, the SUV will be initially launched in India and the bookings are scheduled to commence from July onwards.
Diving into details, the upcoming Honda Elevate SUV is powered by the same 1.5-litre, DOHC, 4-cylinder petrol engine as the 5th-generation Honda City. This engine in the Honda Elevate puts out 119.4bhp at 6,600rpm and 145Nm of torque at 4,300rpm.
Also, this engine comes with a choice of two transmission options. This includes a 6-speed manual transmission and a CVT gearbox. Like most SUVs in the segment, power is sent to the front wheels alone.
In terms of dimensions, the Honda Elevate SUV measures 4,312mm long, 1,790mm wide, 1,650mm tall. On top of that, the wheelbase of the upcoming SUV stands at 2,650mm. This means the Honda Elevate SUV is 12mm longer, 15mm taller, and sports a 40mm longer wheelbase than the Hyundai Creta.
Also, the boot space of the upcoming Honda Elevate SUV measures 458 litres and the ground clearance of the model stands at 220mm. All these measurements also trump the Hyundai Creta SUV with its 433-litre boot and 190mm ground clearance.
That being said, despite its slightly larger dimensions, we expect the upcoming Honda Elevate SUV to be very convenient to use in the city with its 5.2-metre turning radius.
Honda has also revealed that the upcoming Honda Elevate SUV will come equipped with features such as a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment unit with wireless smartphone integration, lane-watch camera, rear-view camera, connected-car tech, and ADAS.
This ADAS feature will include advanced driver aids such as collision mitigation system, lane-keeping assist, high-beam assist, road departure mitigation, adaptive cruise control, lane watch and more.
That being said, some of the noticeable safety features on the Honda Elevate SUV include 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, hill-start assist, rear parking sensors, traction control, vehicle stability assist, seat belt reminder and more.
On top of that, Honda also revealed that it will launch a new Battery-operated Electric Vehicle (BEV) based on the Honda Elevate SUV in 2026. However, Honda is yet to reveal more details regarding this upcoming electric SUV.
That being said, the Honda Elevate turns out to be a very attractive SUV with its upright front section consisting of a large octagonal front grille and sleek-looking LED headlamps. Furthermore, both LED headlamps are connected by a thick chrome bar positioned just above the front grille.
Additionally, design elements such as the faux skid plates, clamshell bonnet, door-mounted rear-view mirrors, and thick claddings help the Honda Elevate SUV stand out from the crowd. Other interesting design elements include diamond-cut alloy wheels, silver roof rails, shark fin antenna and sleek-looking LED taillamps.
Thoughts About The Upcoming Honda Elevate SUV
Looking at the numbers, the upcoming Elevate SUV does seem to be a very strong contender in the highly competitive C-Segment SUV. Also, the Honda Elevate SUV also looks very handsome. However, to be successful, Honda has to price the model on par with the Hyundai Creta SUV.
