Honda Cars India commenced the bookings for the upcoming Elevate SUV in the country. According to dealer sources, the token amount for the upcoming Honda Elevate SUV has been capped at Rs 25,000.
The upcoming Honda Elevate is categorised as a C-segment SUV and will compete against the likes of other C-segment SUVs such as the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Skoda Kushaq and more. It is also worth mentioning that the C-segment SUV is among the most competitive car segments in the country.
For an automaker, the success of a model in this category will ensure a significant boost in overall sales figures as well. So far, both Hyundai and Kia have been dominating this segment with Creta and Seltos, respectively.
Coming back to Honda, the upcoming Elevate SUV measures 4,312mm long, 1,790mm wide, 1,650mm tall, and sports a wheelbase of 2,650mm. This means the Honda Elevate SUV is 12mm longer, 15mm taller, and sports a 40mm longer wheelbase than the Hyundai Creta SUV.
However, despite its slightly larger exterior dimensions, the turning radius of the upcoming Honda Elevate SUV is relatively small at just 5.2 metres. Additionally, Honda also revealed that the upcoming Elevate SUV will come with a 458-litre boot.
According to Honda, the upcoming Elevate SUV is powered by the same 1.5-litre, DOHC, 4-cylinder petrol engine as the 5th-generation Honda City. This engine in the Honda Elevate is tuned to produce 119.4bhp at 6,600rpm and 145Nm of torque at 4,300rpm.
Apart from that, this 1.5-litre engine in the Honda Elevate SUV will come with a choice of two transmission options. This option includes a 6-speed manual transmission and a CVT gearbox.
Some of the notable features of the upcoming Honda Elevate SUV include a large 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment unit with wireless smartphone integration, a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, lane-watch camera, rear-view camera, connected-car tech, and ADAS tech.
Thoughts About The Upcoming Honda Elevate SUV
Looking at the Honda Elevate SUV, Honda seems to have studied its competitors well and the upcoming model sure looks to be a very strong contender in the highly competitive C-Segment SUV category.
However, to take on the likes of the best-selling Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos and Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Honda has to ensure the upcoming Elevate SUV is priced competitively. We also expect deliveries of the Elevate SUV to commence ahead of the festive season in India.
