A family who had parked their at the CGC Glenmarie LRT Station came back to a nasty surprise. It turns out that thieves have stolen their car’s catalytic converter right in the parking lot.
According to the Twitter post by Putri @aputttttt, she and her family decided to take the train to Kuala Lumpur for an evening in town. When they had returned at around 11 pm, they were left stranded at the LRT parking.
Unfortunately for Putri, they were inconveniently parked at the CCTV’s blind spot so the thieves’ operation was not caught on camera.
And as they were parked at the station between 5 pm to 11 pm, the parking attendant, whose work shift ends at 6 pm on Sunday, did not witness any suspicious activities either.
To clarify anyone who asked: 1. There are cctv but we were so dumb to park at blind spot 2. The parking ticket literally mentioned, “park at your own risk”. Yes it’s a paid parking lot 3. The parking attendant only work until 6pm on sunday. There’s no replacement worker at night

Putri also claims that since the parking lot ticket stated “park at your own risk”, the parking lot will not take responsibility for the family’s loss.
Twitter users who replied to her tweet stated that this was not the first time someone encountered theft at the Glenmarie LRT station parking lot. One Twitter user commented that his car battery was stolen at the parking lot.
Another Twitter user also pointed out that the government should look into making LRT parking lots safer since they are encouraging the use of public transport in a bid to reduce emissions in the city.
At the time of writing, Rapid KL has responded to the Twitter post apologising for the inconvenience and stating that they have shared the matter with “the respective team for further attention”.
