If you make your reservation after June 17, expect to pay more.
GMC- GMC will raise all Hummer EV model prices $6,250.
- The price increase will take place on any reservations made on or after June 18, 2022.
- The price increase is to compensate for increased costs in the production and distribution of the vehicle.
Like gasoline and almost everything besides the Quick Spin podcast, the GMC Hummer EV is getting more expensive. GMC says orders made on or after June 18 will see an extra $6,250 tacked onto the already pricey GMC Hummer EV. That means the most affordable GMC Hummer EV will now set you back at least $86,245.
This isn’t all terrible news for the GMC Hummer faithful. GMC has a hard date for the price increase, which means if you currently have a reservation in place, or you’re currently sitting in the lobby of your local GMC dealer, your reservation won’t see an adjusted price.
You’re probably already aware of the reason for the price increase, but GMC lays it out explicitly. The price increase is “due to the increase in the price of commodity parts, technology and logistics,” the brand says. As we saw with Tesla, these price adjustments might become fairly standard in the near future.
This 7.8% price hike might not seem massive and it might not hinder the vehicle’s sales. Though, only time will tell if the new base price will push some prospective buyers in a different direction.
