The days of vans with poor safety standards being widely accepted seem to be passing by, with commercial vehicles getting safer each year.
Hyundai seems to have recognised this, and the new 2023 Staria-Load Premium aims to bring even more safety to the segment.
Starting from $51,240 before on-road costs, the Load Premium is a little more expensive than the five-seat Crew variant, and $5500 more than the base two-seat van with the same seating arrangement, but the Premium brings a little more for the money.
As mentioned, the Hyundai Staria-Load is already ahead of the curve with safety, being the only commercial van awarded ANCAP’s platinum score for collision avoidance, but the Premium variant brings high-beam assist and Hyundai’s ‘Blind Spot View Monitor’ with it.
Inside, it also gains a 10.25-inch multimedia screen and same-sized instrument cluster, giving it more of a car-like interior treatment with some appealing trim.
The Premium also gains LED headlights, a set of 17-inch alloys, auto climate control, a smart key, and a power tailgate. The only downside, for some maybe, is that the power tailgate makes it a ‘lift’ door only, rather than offering split barn doors as the other two variants do.
As well as the standard white and silver colour choices, the Premium is also available in Abyss Black, Graphite Gray, and Moonlight Blue. Bright colours are still yet to make their way to the commercial showroom for Hyundai.
Finally, like the rest of the Staria-Load range, the Premium is powered by Hyundai’s 130kW/430Nm 2.2-litre turbo-diesel four-cylinder engine, mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission powering the front wheels only.
The Staria-Load Premium arrives this month, so buyers can already contact Hyundai if interested.
