Called the Mona L03, the five-seat electric SUV keeps the family styling of the Mona M03 sedan, but adds a fastback SUV body, larger dimensions, and a more powerful single-motor setup. The Mona L03 was filed in two body length versions, measuring 4,650 mm or 4,672 mm long, with width of 1,920 mm, height of 1,600 mm, and a wheelbase of 2,850 mm. Curb weight is listed as 1,855 kg, 1,875 kg, 1,920 kg, or 1,942 kg depending on configuration. The top speed is 180 km/h. The new Mona SUV is powered by a single electric motor made by Luxshare Precision Technology (Changshu), model TZ200XY01D03X. The motor has rated power of 70 kW and peak power of 183 kW. That is higher than the Mona M03 sedan. The battery is an LFP pack supplied by CALB, also known as China Aviation Lithium Battery. No FinDreams blade battery version was listed in the filing. Xpeng Mona L03 SUV rear. The MIIT filing shows the L03 rides on 18-inch or 20-inch wheels, with tire sizes of 225/60 R18 and 245/45 R20. Front and rear overhang are listed as 890/910 mm or 897/925 mm, depending on variant. In terms of styling, the L03 continues the Mona design language with T-shaped headlights and a streamlined silhouette. Compared with the M03 sedan, the rear adopts a more coupe-like SUV profile starting from the B-pillar. The front bumper features an active grille, while the rear gets a new full-width taillight design instead of lamp graphics matching the front. The filing also shows a panoramic glass roof, semi-hidden door handles, and multiple cameras around the body. Optional equipment listed in the filing includes a front logo, front dual-lens camera, camera-equipped fender trim, side-view cameras integrated into the mirrors, rear-view camera in the rear bumper, different wheels, brake calipers, rear spoiler, side skirts, and front and rear bumper trims. The presence of multiple cameras suggests the L03 will continue Xpeng’s vision-based driver assistance approach used in the Mona range, and is expected to support urban assisted driving. The Mona L03 is internally codenamed D02 and is smaller than the Xpeng G6. In China, the G6 is currently priced at 176,800 – 198,800 yuan, while the Mona M03 starts at 119,800 yuan. Local media expect the L03 to be positioned between the two, with a price around 150,000 yuan, although Xpeng has not yet confirmed pricing. The L03 will become the second model in the Mona lineup after the M03 sedan, which launched in August 2024 and quickly became one of Xpeng’s volume drivers. The new SUV is expected to launch later this year as Xpeng looks to expand the Mona series further. Editor’s note: MIIT filings are an early disclosure and some specifications may still change before launch.
