Me with the Ford F-250 Built To Honor Edition - Allison BarfieldDon't settle for looking like every other car when performance packages from Ford Custom Garage provide unique style and legendary upgrades.Since the beginning of automotive history, people have been customizing their cars to deliver more power and to stand out with fun color combinations to support their unique individuality. Even the 1908 Ford Model T was available with different body styles, different setting options, and specialized wider track widths.By now, you've likely overheard people complaining about new cars looking a little bland. I've heard the complaint that all new cars look the same over and over. But luckily, this is where Ford Custom Garage steps in to make a difference. There are tons of performance packages for racing and off-roading upgrades. Plus, there are incredible wheel, color, and upholstery combinations to stand out from the pack.AdvertisementAdvertisementEach limited-edition package is designed by Ford and installed with precision to eliminate shortcuts and guesswork. Plus, Genuine Ford Accessories are backed by warranties. I got the chance to hit the International Speedway in Michigan to test a few of these custom packages myself and determined that they truly make a difference. This story is 100% human researched and written based on actual first-person knowledge, extensive experience and expertise on the subject of cars and trucks. I was invited to personally take these custom rides for a few spins and all opinions are my own.The Ford Maverick SV300T 2.0L AWD Package Is An Ultimate Performance UpgradeFord Maverick SV300T – Allison BarfieldI started my morning behind the wheel of a Ford Custom Garage Maverick SV300T 2.0L AWD package, which can come in black and bronze, on an autocross course. Autocross, if you don't know, is an event where drivers navigate a cone-marked course in an attempt to finish with the fastest time. It focuses on precision handling instead of top speed. The SV300T 2.0L AWD package includes a Mustang-sourced turbocharger, Ford Racing intercooler, and aggressive street aesthetics with 20" by 8" black/bronze wheels, matching center caps, a Sport Borla exhaust specific to that engine, front lower spoiler, and bronze/black tailgate lettering.AdvertisementAdvertisementThe little hybrid truck is also lowered and fitted with a sport-tuned suspension setup, and its power is increased from 250 hp and 280 lb-ft of torque to 300 hp and 350 lb-ft of torque thanks to a factory tune. Luckily, the Mustang parts under the hood are paired with upgraded brakes to confidently bring this tiny sport truck to a stop, because it can really take off. Driving this suped-up Maverick packs a potent punch as it flies off the line.Speaking of, I aggressively accelerated towards cones that seemed placed way too closely together for any truck to avoid. But the performance upgrades allowed the Maverick to glide around them with agile precision. It was like a shark, effortlessly gliding around obstacles, and the tires deliver substantial gripping power to eliminate slippage. Honestly, I thought the Maverick Lobo trim was the best option, but this performance package is even better. The Ford Bronco Packages Speak to Different Off-RoadersFord Bronco Desert Rising – Allison BarfieldNext, I ventured into a field filled with exclusive Ford Bronco packages that catered to different personalities and aesthetics. For example, the new Bronco Desert Rising package reflects natural hues found during sunrises and sunsets across the Utah desert. It's painted with the berry coloring of pink, purple, and indigo skies and sands. It's based on the Outer Banks trim with white Method wheels, Katzkin leather seats, and a DIY painted grille. However, it's limited to 1,000 units, so desert runners should act fast.On the other end of the spectrum, the Ford Bronco Coastal delivers vintage vibes with eye-catching blue, yellow, and orange side stripes. It rides on silver 17" by 8" wheels and a two-inch off-road suspension kit. Iconic Silver fender flares are paired with a Bimini top featuring a silver horse graphic, and a silver grille completes the look. Also, it's available with a tube door kit.AdvertisementAdvertisementThen the Bronco ORV Package is designed to take off-roading to the next level with an off-road suspension kit by Fox, skid plates, rocker panel trail armor, red tow hooks, an auxiliary switch kit, Havoc fender flares, an AUX lighting kit by Rigid, and a black weld 17" by 8.5" wheel kit. A stealth hood decal, smoked Ford oval, black tailgate badge, red grille letter caps, and black lug nut kit give it a unique style. The Ford Mustang FP800S Package Puts The Pedal To The MetalFord Mustang FP800S – Allison BarfieldAfter drooling over Bronco models, it was time to drive the Ford Mustang FP800S on the racetrack. My apologies go out to scaring my driving instructor, because he didn't expect me to go after it as he screamed, "BRAKE BRAAAAAAAKE" like bloody murder. But hey, who can resist punching it with 800 horsepower under the hood?Anyway, the package features unique colors like Battle Ship Grey, a black-out accent and trim package, and a bronze edition with other exclusive trim features. Under the hood, you get a 3.0-liter Whipple supercharger kit, an air-oil separator kit, and a half-shaft upgrade kit. It's paired with a louder, more aggressive Cat-Back exhaust, front splitter, good vent, modular grille, R1 wheels, and Recaro racing seats. The package is even available with a manual transmission. These Mustangs don't hesitate to get off the line with enthusiasm and can turn on a dime with responsive handling and plenty of stopping power. They're smooth, deliciously loud, and easy to control at high speeds for incredible performance.Large Ford Trucks Also Get Custom TreatmentsThe Ford F-150 Dark Trail Package thanks to Ford Custom Garage – Credit: Allison BarfieldThe Ford Custom Garage goes big and small. It delivers 700 hp and 590 lb-ft of torque! It has a 3.0-liter supercharger kit, a fender vent kit, an air design front fender lip splitter, and a lowered suspension with blacked-out trim.I got to take this truck in super cab and single cab form on the drag strip, and holy moly. It launches hard with a straight-line performance, with incredibly smooth transmission shifts and no noticeable evidence of drag. The giant beasts feel lightweight and agile with confident handling and superb stopping power for thrilling rides.Ford Custom Garage provides tons of options for cars, SUVs, and trucks with performance upgrades for racing and off-roading, with exclusive styles to eliminate blending into the crowd with another generic look. Compared to stock models, they have more power, better handling, and upgraded stopping power with knockout style!
