Leaked images also reveal its interior. Earlier, BYD applied for sales licenses for the Formula S liftback and Formula S GT wagon, preparing for a Q3 2026 launch. Launched in China in 2023, Fang Cheng Bao (FCB) was BYD’s dedicated off-road sub-brand. In 2024, it announced new sports cars and sedans, then unveiled the Formula X concept car at the 2026 Beijing Auto Show. Both the S liftback and S GT wagons debuted on June 11, when FCB’s sale licenses with China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) were announced. Meanwhile, recent spy shots show the Formula S sedan in light camouflage, with unpainted bumpers and minimal vinyl, suggesting near-production status. Expanding on performance, the S sedan gets a 245 kW (329 hp) rear motor for its entry-level RWD trim, with a peppier 300 kW (402 hp) rear motor for the mid-level RWD trim. The RWD entry-level S GT wagon also gets the 245 kW (329 hp) rear motor, and both cars get a 490 kW (657 hp) twin-motor system for the top AWD trim. Battery details remain undisclosed, but both models are set to feature BYD’s Blade Battery 2.0 and Flash Charging.
