The upcoming technology launch will focus on five key areas: batteries, charging solutions, hybrid systems, intelligent driving (ADAS), and high-voltage platforms. BYD will host a so-called “disruptive technology” launch event in Shenzhen on March 5th. On the eve of the event, netizens, based on various sources, have compiled a more comprehensive and detailed leak regarding the content of the technology launch. It is reported that BYD’s upcoming event will focus on five key areas: batteries, charging, hybrid systems, intelligent driving, and high-voltage platforms, introducing a comprehensive suite of technologies. Semi-Solid-State Battery / Second-Generation Blade Battery As early as mid-February, BYD had already announced that its sulfide-based semi-solid-state battery had passed all 18 extreme safety tests. It is reported that this semi-solid-state battery cell has an extremely high energy density. When combined with the Blade Battery structure, the energy density of the battery pack exceeds 300Wh/kg, making it 25% lighter than traditional liquid electrolyte battery packs. When installed in Yangwang models, the range can easily exceed 1,000 kilometers. It is expected to gradually be introduced to the Dynasty and Ocean series models as well. Meanwhile, the energy density of the second-generation fast-charging Blade Battery, based on the lithium iron manganese phosphate (LMFP) chemistry, is expected to increase to 190-230Wh/kg. According to BYD’s previously stated goals: by 2030, it aims to achieve cost parity between semi-solid-state and liquid electrolyte batteries, three years ahead of industry expectations. BYD Blade Battery Megawatt Flash Charging 2.0 Charging anxiety has long been a core pain point for electric vehicle users. The Super e-Platform released last year already achieved “400 kilometers of range with 5 minutes of charging.” This upcoming event may see the launch of an upgraded version, Megawatt Flash Charging 2.0. According to leaks, Flash Charging 2.0 could reach a maximum power of 1500kW. Combined with full liquid cooling and a lightweight charging gun cable weighing only 2 kilograms, it aims to achieve “500 kilometers of range with just 4-6 minutes of charging.” More crucially, this technology will be made available for mainstream models priced around ¥150,000, no longer exclusive to million-yuan luxury cars. Additionally, the supporting charging network will be expanded simultaneously, with plans to build 15,000 ultra-fast charging stations by 2026, covering highways, commercial areas, and residential communities. BYD Megawatt Flash Charging Station DM 6.0 Hybrid System In the hybrid sector, BYD will introduce the DM 6.0 system. Predictions suggest the dedicated engine’s thermal efficiency will exceed 46.5%, with fuel consumption when the battery is depleted as low as 2.4L/100km. Pure electric range is expected to increase to 250-350 kilometers, and the comprehensive range is set to surpass 2,300 kilometers. In terms of driving experience, the DM 6.0 system is expected to deliver a driving feel close to that of a pure EV, with smooth, jerk-free acceleration. An AI-powered intelligent battery preservation function will be able to predict road conditions 50 kilometers in advance, achieving a 10% optimization in fuel consumption. It is reported that this system will gradually be introduced to family cars priced between ¥100,000 and ¥150,000, such as the Qin PLUS and Song Pro, within 2026. BYD DM 5.0 Hybrid System God’s Eye 5.0 In the realm of intelligence, BYD’s end-to-end large model-based “God’s Eye 5.0” intelligent driving system is expected to be unveiled at this event. The new intelligent driving system will reportedly still be divided into three tiers (A, B, C). The B-version will come standard with a lidar. Supported by the end-to-end large model, the system will enable functions such as Urban NOA, Highway NOA, and all-scenario parking. Making technology more accessible will be a highlight of this event. It is reported that models priced around ¥150,000 will come standard with lidar, Highway NOA will be standard on models priced above ¥100,000, and Urban NOA will be standard on models priced above ¥150,000. God’s Eye Advanced Driver Assistance System All-Domain 1000V High-Voltage Platform The upgrade of the vehicle’s underlying architecture is the foundation for implementing all core technologies. According to leaks, BYD is expected to officially announce the comprehensive adoption of an all-domain 1000V high-voltage platform. Coupled with its self-developed automotive-grade silicon carbide electric drive system, this will enable a leap in overall vehicle efficiency. It is reported that the new platform will be compatible with a wide voltage range (400V-1000V). The efficiency of the silicon carbide electric drive can be increased to over 99%, reducing energy loss by approximately 70%. Combined with a high-power motor capable of 30,000 rpm, this results in more power, a more compact size, and greater energy efficiency during highway driving. More critically, this technology will also follow a path of broad accessibility, filtering down to the mainstream market segment (around ¥150,000) within 2026. BYD’s Flagship Grand SUV – Tang In addition to the release of major technologies, BYD will also showcase over ten new models from its various brands at the event, covering the Ocean Series, Dynasty Series, Fang Cheng Bao, and Yangwang. Data shows that for January-February 2026, BYD Group’s cumulative sales reached 400,241 units, with cumulative overseas sales hitting 200,160 units.
