Customers can place a reservation for the new Seagull in the BYD App for 2,000 yuan (~300 USD). The price of the new car remains undisclosed, which is a common practice in China. It allows automakers to attract attention to the model and to assess potential sales volume based on booking statistics and user interest. A refund can be issued at any time before the order is locked. New BYD Seagull. However, it doesn’t act as a purchase contract, as the car’s configuration, trim levels, and prices have yet to be revealed. After the official release, clients can revise their reservations, modifying the vehicle according to personal preferences. It was officially revealed that the second-gen Seagull will be available in six exterior colors: green, orange, white, pink, blue, and gray. As mentioned, the new BYD Seagull has significantly grown in size. Its dimensions are 4205/1810/1570 mm with a wheelbase of 2,650 mm. It is 425 mm longer than the ongoing first generation. The exterior styling looks more mature as well. The new Seagull has a five-seat cabin. The left part of the center screen acts as an instrument panel. Another highlight is a 94-liter storage compartment under the bonnet. The car’s trunk offers up to 1,380 liters with the rear seats folded down. Interior of the new BYD Seagull The second-gen BYD Seagull has a 95 kW (127 hp) electric motor in the rear axle and two battery options for 30 and 39.2 kWh.
