Ram has finally released the technical specs about its 1500 REV pickup truck. The carmaker also confirmed that the vehicle is built on Stellantis’ STLA Frame platform.
The pickup model is currently celebrating its world premiere at the New York International Auto Show. According to Ram, the EV has dual electric drive modules, each with 250 kW. In total, 481 kW of power can be accessed. The Ram 1500 REV comes with two battery choices: a 168 kWh battery and a targeted range of up to 350 miles (563 km) or a 229 kWh battery with a targeted range of 500 miles (800 km). In the STLA Frame platform, the batteries are incorporated directly into the frame. To that end, the structure is wider in the middle to accommodate the battery pack “while still utilizing protection afforded by the frame rails”.
In both cases, the electric pickup truck can charge up to 110 miles (117 km) “in approximately 10 minutes with 800-volt DC fast charging at up to 350 kW”. The manufacturer does not provide any information on the AC charging power. What is certain, however, is that Ram’s electric pickup will be able to handle bidirectional charging and will have two V2L ports, one on the cargo bed with up to 7.2 kW and one in the front boot with up to 3.6 kW.
Other performance figures include acceleration from 0-60 mph )0-100 kph) in 4.4 seconds, 840 Nm of torque, up to 24 inches (61 cm) of water fording, a towing capacity of up to 14,000 pounds (6.350 kg) and a maximum payload of 2,700 pounds (1.225 kg). Thanks to a continuous air baffle panel on the underbody, the drag coefficient is estimated at 0.34.
As for the drive system itself, the manufacturer specifies that the two 250 kW electric drive modules (EDMs) each combine the motor, gearbox and inverter along with the four-wheel drive. The EDM on the front axle has an automatic “wheel-end disconnect,” so the front wheels can spin freely. The second EDM drives the wheels on the rear axle, for which an electronically lockable rear differential is available.
Stellantis also mentions a multi-link independent rear suspension “with standard, segment-exclusive, active-level four-corner air suspension with adaptive damping”. The air suspension supports five modes (entry/exit, aero, normal, off-road 1 and off-road 2). Autonomous vehicle features include Active Driving Assist and ParkSense automatic parking system.
It looks like its combustion engine twin
The electric pickup takes a lot from the combustion engine model in terms of design, as already seen at the first presentation in February. These include the muscular body lines and wheel arches, the characteristic “tuning fork” light graphics for the LED headlights and the illuminated “Ram” logo. On the other hand, the front bonnet, among other things, has been redesigned, and its shape brings the front luggage compartment volume to 425 litres. The loading connection is located in the front left side panel.
Interior materials include carbon fibre, metal and leather, while the cockpit features a 14.5-inch touchscreen and a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster – complemented by a 10.25-inch passenger screen, a digital rearview mirror, a head-up display and a Klipsch brand audio system. Other features include an electronic P/R/N/D rotary switch with new buttons for Eco mode, rear axle, new recuperation buttons to open and close the front boot, a redesigned start button, a round push button for trailer control and an accessory switch bank.
At launch, the electric Ram will launch in five trim levels: Tradesman, Big Horn/Lone Star, Laramie, Limited and Tungsten. The Tungsten variant is the top trim. Tungsten models include an innovative electrically operated tailgate and extras such as suede-covered sun visors and heated and ventilated premium leather seats with 24-way power adjustment and massage function.
Stellantis promotes EV-specific features, including state of charge, battery temperature, in-car power flow and energy reduction displays, a power/charge bar graph, charging plans, Plug&Charge or adjustable maximum SoC level, and One Pedal Driving.

Ram did not comment on the exact launch date. However, its press release talks about the 2025 model year – so the market launch should be in 2024. It is also not clear what the Ram 1500 REV will sell for. However, the carmaker has been accepting reservations for a refundable 100-dollar fee.
