Covered 1902 km with my Honda Elevate CVT in 2 months: Ownership review, Indian, Member Content, Honda Elevate, Car ownership

From the instrument cluster, the fuel efficiency was showing 16 km/l.

BHPian rekoj68 recently shared this with other enthusiasts.

Hello,

My review of the ZX CVT so far

Why Elevate:

Was not interested in other similar offerings as there are too many of them already on-road and also in family. So my choices were C3 Aircross and Honda Elevate. Did a test drive of both in early September. Although the power (because of Turbo) is good in C3 Aircross, features, and safety options were not great for the money. Did a couple of test drives of Elevate and booked it as it matches our requirements.

Booking and Delivery:

The booking and delivery experience with Magnum Honda, Kanakapura Road was smooth and had no hassle. There was no pressure or push from the dealer to get any additional accessories or insurance. Would rate the overall experience as 5/5 for the dealership.

  • Booked ZX CVT Pearl white on 19th September (paid 10K booking amount
  • Vehicle confirmed on 31st October
  • Vehicle arrived in showroom on 6th November and PDI done on 7th November(third party, zeekardo). The odometer was 10 km.
  • Insurance from Acko on 7th November (40% less than quote from Honda)
  • Full payment and registration was done on 8th November.
  • Took home the new Elevate on 10th November.
  • Today (20th Nov), first free service was done with 1,902 km on ODO

I purchased the following accessories:

  1. From Dealer: Basic Kit, cargo tray, step illumination
  2. Outside: Cover, Dashcam

Driving Experience:

Disclaimer: The following is the comparative experience from my earlier vehicle (Punto 1.3 Dynamic with 1.11L ODO, Turbo diesel engine)

The next day the delivery went to native for about 650 km drive with a couple of detours. By the time I returned to Bengaluru, ODO was already clocking 1890 km. The drive was really nice and smooth. The ride quality was great for both drivers and co-passengers.

I did try to use all the safety and autonomous functionality available. Here is the summary:

  • Auto headlights – I found them really useful, as I don’t need to worry about changing the
  • Collision mitigation braking system – I did not test it per se, but it gave a warning two times when the two-wheeler suddenly swayed in front of the vehicle. As it was in the city and not much speed, the braking system didn’t kick in.
  • Lane Keeping Assist System(LKAS) – works like a charm during the daylight. But you need to keep your hands on the steering wheels as not all roads have the lanes marked properly. While changing lanes, it gives haptic feedback if indicators are not on.
  • Adaptive Cruise Control(ACC) – First-time user of ACC, and it works as expected. It slows down quickly if approaching any vehicle and creates delays in lane change. Once the road is cleared, the acceleration is quick and noisy.
  • Lead Car Departure Notification system – Triggered only once after exiting NECE road.
  • Sports (or “S”) mode – Manual mode is also nice when the a need to have more control of the power output. Was useful while overtaking.
  • LKAS and ACC are used extensively on highways and it just works
  • I would have preferred the below to be part of the package:
  • Mute and Pause/Start button on steering control
  • Option to turn off the headlights manually
  • Window shades for rear windows.

Mileage:

From the instrument cluster, mileage was showing 16 km/l and it was the same for manual calculation (Tank to Tank auto cutoff method). 60% drive was on the highway and one way was with 3 adults and 2 kids and full boot. Return 2 Adults and 2 kids and a heavier boot.
