The Tesla Model 3 is an awesome EV but it might lose in its own game by the likes of the Pravaig Extinction
For quite some time now, the news of Tesla entering India has been floating around on the internet. It’s known to everyone that the brand has been struggling to establish itself in the country. But things are going to get out a lot more challenging for Tesla, as domestic players are ramping up the EV game.
An Indian company has created an electric car that can contend against the likes of a Tesla car. Wanna know why it can crush Tesla in its own game? Read on!
The Tesla Killer In India!
Pravaig Dynamics, a Bangalore based electric vehicle manufacturer has come up with an ingenious car that can sweep you off your feet with its stunning design and looks
The Indian automotive market is quite new to the EV game. Even so, there are many electric vehicle making companies in the country. But it seems like they are under threat from brands like Tesla that can take a big chunk of their profits. You may ask how true is that statement. Well, Tesla is a global leader when it comes to electric mobility. The brand has some of the best EV technology at hand. So naturally, it’s bound to be a threat to EV makers elsewhere.
Nonetheless, there is still hope for domestic electric vehicle makers. How? Just take a look at, Pravaig Dynamics. They have whipped up something that can potentially take on Tesla. How? We’ll get to that in a bit!
Speaking about the company, Pravaig Dynamics has been active in the Indian EV sector. The brand has also been also popular since 2011 for manufacturing off-road machines. Moreover, the brand is now under the radar of auto enthusiasts. Wanna know why? Read on!
The Pravaig Extinction MK1
What is it?
So, Pravaig Dynamics has come up with an electric car that dubbed the Extinction Mk1. Like a Tesla, it too comes loaded with several new-age features along with a powerful powertrain. What’s the best part about the car is that it’s made right here in India,
Furthermore, the brand announces that the Mk1 prototype will give way to an MK2 model. It will be a production model targeting the B2B market. According to the brand, there is a huge demand for EVs among fleet operators. So, the brand believes that it’s best to sell cars to last-mile service-based companies.
The MK1 electric car
Okay, it’s the Pravaig Extinction electric car we are talking about which comes packed with power and a plethora of features
The Pravaig Extinction comes with a 96 kWh battery pack linked to an electric motor. This configuration allows the car to produce 130hp and cover over 500km of range on a single charge. The vehicle even has the capacity to clock 0-100kmph in just 4.3 seconds. The brand also claims that the car will meet 5-star crash test ratings.
Now, if we compare the Pravaig Extinction to a Tesla Model 3, the power figures seem to be quite close. The Tesla Model 3 comes in two battery pack options- 50 kWh and 75 kWh. The 50 kWh battery pack has the capacity to offer a driving range of 350km. Meanwhile, the 75kWh battery pack presents a driving range of 500km per charge. Also, this setup allows the car to produce 221hp.
So, it seems like the Pravaig Extinction has a similar driving range compared to the Model 3. But it lacks the power output compared to the Model 3. Needless to say, this should not matter as the Indian spec Model 3 might come with a toned-down motor.
Further, the power figures which we mentioned is quite similar to the Tesla Model 3
Is it better than a Tesla?
Well, that is a question that can only be answered once Tesla and its cars roll out in India. But for now, we can state that it is a worthy contender Refining the prototype and getting the pricing right on the final production model could make that we could have a winner on our hands.
