10K Km UPDATE:
10k km in just two months? Even I hadn’t thought of achieving this milestone if not for my dad’s timely vacay permission from his office. Done 5k km in 10 days by exploring the following route:
CHENNAI-SOLAPUR-PUNE-AGRA-JAIPUR-PUNE-CHENNAI
And don’t misjudge me as a heavy driver, as this milestone is just a new car euphoria which sprung upon us. So following are the observations in the meanwhile:
- Engine feels opened up post 5k km. Could feel the engine even more lively than before and it shows in the fuel economy. It builds and reaches speed effortlessly without any drama.
- 110-120kph feels like cruising along 80kph as it masks the speeds excellent with good cabin insulation.
- Like mentioned earlier, ECO mode is more than enough to handle highway cum city and doesn’t leave you stranded for more power.
- The ride felt very stable on straight line roads but you could feel the whole weight transfer happening behind you while switching lanes. And the ride does get unsettled over some poorly laid expansion joints.
- Of late, I’m using the Right rear window switch instead of driver window. Seems like its positioned far from the ergonomic reach.
- I’m loving the remote engine start feature. Its very handy and convenient for warming up the engine and cooling down the cabin. In order to operate this feature, the handbrake has to be atleast 5 notches up from standstill and the gear must be in N position.
- Android auto and Apple carplay remains stable throughout the journey w/o any issues.
- Was completely fatigue free and no motion sickness attacked us anywhere during the trip.
- Front end sticks to the tarmac, handles and behaves like how a driver expect it to be. Its rear end where the Hyundai engineers had goofed up. When travelling alone, the rear end loses composure at corners but stays a bit planted with boot fully loaded.
- The brake pedal doesn’t actuate to its limit while going over bad roads. The brake pedals felt like it got stuck in the midway and was scary at those situations. Haven’t experienced this issue anytime during our Manza’s ownership. Experts here, can you help me out what might be the root cause?
- The ventilated seats reduces the blowing air after a while of running. Is this how the feature work in all cars?
- Auto dim IRVM is a bit turn off, to be honest. It distracts the hell during night drives when people behind you approach with high beam. I push the IRVM away from my eyesight and found the manual IRVM from our Manza to be more user-friendly than this.
- Steering alignment- During the 1st service, my SA admitted that manual/instruction hasn’t been issued from Hyundai to address this problem and they yet to get training for the new verna. But got it done at the 2nd service and the issue got resolved completely.
