The latest Toyota Urban Cruiser is a significant improvement from the previous generation and is bigger on space but can it fit a bicycle?
The latest Toyota Urban Cruiser is a significant improvement compared to the previous generation. My colleague Lawrence Minnie had the Urban Cruiser on review, and you can read his thoughts here.
The Urban Cruiser is now bigger and better in many respects. Safety, style and, in the interests of this article, practicality and convenience. Here are all the trims head to head. The latest Urban Cruiser is now wider and taller. The benefits of such can also be seen in the cabin space. Not only that, the interior is a mix of textures and fabrics that are pleasing to look at but also can handle the daily encounters with family activities. One of those activities would include cycling; with this in mind, can you fit a bicycle into the Urban Cruiser?
Great! But can you fit a bicycle in the Urban Cruiser?
Yes, you can. The boot area capacity of the Urban Cruiser is rated at 353 litres and can be extended when you fold down the rear seats, which are a 60/40 split. You can fit one 29-inch bicycle fully assembled in the boot area if you fold down the rear seats, but we’d suggest turning the front wheel slightly so that at least the boot lid can close properly. You could go a step further and remove the front wheel for easier fitment. Kids’ bicycles should fit fairly easily, and you could fit two of them in the boot area, depending on the size of the bicycles.
