This is a precautionary recall and part of its ongoing recall efforts that has seen more than 223,000 units of Takata driver front airbag inflators replaced as of March 2018. The total number of driver and passenger front airbag inflators replaced is approximately 435,000 which represents a completion rate of 77% of all affected cars. This means 23% of affected cars are still being driven around with potentially faulty airbag inflators.
Even though there hasn’t been any crashes or injuries related to the Takata airbags lately (particularly the passenger front airbag), owners are still advised to check their car’s recall status at www.honda.com.my or www.productrecall.honda.com.my and bring the car in for a replacement free of charge.
Honda Malaysia is taking this safety recall seriously and continues to notify owners of this recall.
