Toyota has unveiled the 2022 Tundra bakkie for the US market – and it looks incredible.
The new Toyota Tundra will be available with a 3.5-litre, twin-turbo, V6 engine that produces 290kW and 649Nm in the standard i-FORCE set-up.
A more powerful i-FORCE MAX powertrain option then produces an impressive 325kW and 790Nm from a hybrid version of the 3.5-litre V6.
This power allows for a maximum towing capacity of 5,400kg – which is complemented by advanced terrain select and crawl control systems for serious off-roading.
Inside, Toyota has provided a spacious and modern cabin which provides a range of features.
This includes a 14-inch touchscreen to control the multimedia system, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, leather trims, heated seats, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
TRD Pro
If all the features listed above are not enough for you, Toyota will also offer a TRD Pro version of the Tundra.
This vehicle is “built for the great outdoors” and features 18-inch BBS forged alloy wheels with all-terrain tyres, an off-road suspension with FOX shocks, and a TRD aluminum skid plate.
“It should come as no surprise that the all-new Tundra was redesigned from the ground up,” said Toyota.
“Designed, engineered, and assembled in the US, there’s no question this is the toughest, most capable, most advanced Tundra to date.”
The 2022 Toyota Tundra is set to go on sale later in 2021 in the US, with pricing yet to be announced.
