EV manufacturer Ather Energy has completed the installation of over 1000 Fast electric vehicle chargers. The Bangalore-based firm plans to install over 2,500 fast chargers as part of its Ather Grid network by the end of 2023.
The 1,000+ Fast Charging stations, dubbed Ather Grids, have been installed in 80 cities across the country. Ather Grid is now the nation’s largest fast-charging network for two-wheelers in the country.
The Ather Grid fast chargers can be used by any EV, two-wheeler or four-wheeler and can charge up EV battery packs up to 80 per cent at speeds of 1.5km/minute which allows for a range of 90km in just 1 hour.
Unlike quite a few other fast charging networks that allow any vehicle to charge, the Ather Grid has been free to use since its inception as Ather’s fast charging network. The Ather Grid network of 1000+ fast chargers will remain free to use for everyone till March.
Speaking about the milestone, Ravneet Phokela, Chief Business Officer, Ather Energy, said “A robust charging infrastructure is one of the major drivers in accelerating faster adoption of electric vehicles. The news of the Ather Grid fast charging network going past the 1,000 mark comes just weeks after the firm announced that it had rolled off the 100,000th electric scooter from its production facilities. Ather enjoyed a good month of sales in January 2023, selling over 12,000 electric scooters.
The Bangalore-based firm also introduced new colour options, a new seat option and a host of upgrades for its lineup of scooters at its Community day event. The firm had also introduced its new charging initiative – Ather Neighborhood Charging, an EV charging solution that brings hassle-free charging to corporate buildings, tech parks, and residential complexes.

The Ather Grid Network is now the nation’s largest fast-charging network in the country and will more than double in size by the end of the year. We hope that other electric automakers follow Ather’s initiative and help promote the growth of the fast-charging network to ensure that the nation switches to EVs sooner rather than later.
