Bengaluru-based electric two-wheeler manufacturer, Ather Energy will soon launch the more affordable Ather 450S electric scooter in India. Now, the EV maker has revealed the instrument cluster of the upcoming Ather 450S.
This new instrument cluster in the upcoming Ather 450S is a much simpler segmented LCD display. As such, the model will miss out on features such as touch interface, navigation and more.
That being said, Ather Energy has already revealed the pricing for the new Ather 450S. At present, this new electric scooter is priced at Rs 1.30 lakh (ex-showroom) and the company has already commenced the pre-bookings for the model.
Speaking about the Ather 450S, the electric scooter is based on the company’s highly successful 450 platform. However, the new 450S electric scooter comes equipped with a smaller 3kWh battery pack as opposed to the 3.7kW battery pack in the Ather 450X.
As a result of this smaller battery pack, Ather Energy claims that the new Ather 450S electric scooter can go only as far as 115 kilometres on a fully charged battery pack. The company also claims that the model can achieve a top speed of 90km/h.
Given the same top speed figure as the Ather 450X, we expect the new Ather 450 electric scooter to feature the same 6.2kW electric motor as the more premium Ather 450X model. However, acceleration figures are likely to differ due to the availability of multiple ride modes in 450X.
It is worth mentioning that the design of the new Ather 450S electric scooter is likely to remain almost identical to the Ather 450X electric scooter. However, the new model is likely to replace some premium bits with more conventional components.
Thoughts About The New Ather 450S
With the launch of the new more affordable variant of the Ather 450 range of electric scooters, Ather Energy will be able to attract more customers, which in turn could help improve the overall sales figures of the EV maker.
