But NOT for the US-spec model (yet).
We've got some great news about the 2024 Lexus LC Coupe; the car's biggest flaw has finally been fixed. In the official announcement for the 2024 LC 500, including the LC Convertible and LC Hybrid, Lexus confirmed that its flagship model will ditch the Remote Touch infotainment system that has already been replaced in other vehicles. In place of the outgoing 10-inch screen and laptop-style track pad, the LC now gets a 12.3-inch touchscreen. Lexus says this screen is mounted closer to the driver for easier use.
Along with the new touchscreen, the LC also gains the latest Lexus Interface infotainment system that can respond to spoken commands such as “Hey Lexus.” It also boasts wireless Apple CarPlay, though Android Auto still requires a wired connection. Now that the touchpad is gone, it freed up Lexus to reconfigure the center console, including a button that controls the heated and ventilated seats. This is used to require sifting through menus on the screen.
This update, however, is only for Europe, so some of the following information is subject to change. The US received details about the 2023 model year back in October, so an announcement for our market may not come for a while. Fingers crossed this update will be included in the US-spec 2024 model.
Lexus will offer the LC Coupe and Convertible with a new Blue and White two-tone color scheme and a DK. Rose one, which pairs a dark black exterior with red seats. Lexus also mentions that the acrylic passenger fascia now matches the instrument panel upholstery. Customers also have new seat materials choices, the scuff plates in the Sport Package models are now made of lightweight carbon, and a 360-degree camera is now standard.
On the outside, two new colors join the pallet: Heat Blue Contrast Layering and Sonic Copper. There are also three new wheel styles: 20-inch in gloss black, 21-inch with 3D machined finish, and 21-inch in two-tone black/chrome. Some minor changes have been made to the suspension and brakes, so the LC should drive even better than before. No improvements are listed for the 5.0-liter V8 but the hybrid will get higher capacity cells in its battery.
It's unclear if it will come to the US market, but Lexus showed off an Ultimate Edition of the LC Coupe and Convertible (pictured above). The Ultimate Edition pairs a matte Hakugin White paint with a Kachi Blue interior. It gets special details like incrementally-formed canards (pictured below) on the front bumper and a black carbon rear wing (coupe only).
