The popular subcompact crossover has also been refreshed for the upcoming model year.
Kia has announced pricing for its facelifted Seltos subcompact crossover, which now begins at $24,390, excluding the $1,325 destination fee. The updated Seltos was revealed last November at the LA Auto Show but the South Korean automaker did not have US market pricing finalized at that time.
For $25,715 (destination fee included), you'll get the base LX trim that includes standard features such as a 4.2-inch digital gauge display, four USB ports (two in the front, two in the rear), and a 2.0-liter engine with the same output as last year of 147 hp and 132 lb-ft of torque. That power is routed to the front wheels via a CVT.
The '24 Seltos is more expensive than last year's model by over $1,000, which is pretty high for a vehicle that has not been completely redesigned.
Moving up the trim ladder, the S carries a starting price of $26,315, including the destination charge. That's not a huge jump between trims but it gets more expensive from there. The EX starts at $27,115 (with destination), while the X-Line can't be had for anything less than $30,015.
The good news is that the X-Line, a popular trim for other Kia models, comes with a solid upgrade: the turbocharged 1.6-liter turbo-four, which now nets an additional 20 horsepower over last year for a new total of 195 hp. If you want all-wheel drive, it comes standard on the LX, X-Line, and SX.
The latter is the top dog in the range and, with destination, begins at $31,315. AWD is optional on the S and EX, but it doesn't cost the same for each one. On the S, it costs $1,500, and $2,200 on the EX. The reason for the difference is that the EX automatically adds a sunroof when you tick the box for AWD.
Regardless of trim, the entire MY24 Seltos lineup features refreshed styling inside and out, and it remains one of the best-looking vehicles in its ultra-competitive class. The exterior now boasts new headlights with a new LED daytime running light pattern and fog lights with a cool vertical look. Out back, the taillights have a sleeker look, and there's now a light bar connecting those lights. Standard safety features include Drive Attention Warning, High Beam Assist, Lane Following Assist, and a Rear View Monitor.
One particular new piece of interior tech we like is the available panoramic screen display consisting of the instrument cluster and display screen, both measuring 10.25 inches. Unfortunately, Kia decided not to include the rotary gear selector the European-spec models are getting. US market Seltos retain the regular gear lever.
Since Kia's official website now has updated model year pricing and the configurator is up and running, the 2024 Seltos should arrive in dealerships very soon.
