Hyundai has unveiled the new 2024 Hyundai Sonata sedan. This upcoming sedan is not a completely new model but a facelifted version based on the 8th generation of the sedan that was launched back in 2020.
That being said, the 2024 Hyundai Sonata looks very much like a new model with its sharp and angular styling incorporating full-width LED light bar at the front and rear, split headlamps, a large front grille and a slopping roof line.
In fact, the 2024 Hyundai Sonata looks quite similar to the recently launched, 6th generation, 2023 Hyundai Verna sedan. That being said, the side profile of the 2024 Hyundai Sonata is similar to the pre-facelift model.
On the inside, Hyundai has put in the effort to make the model look futuristic with a revised dashboard design, and incorporating two 12.3-inch displays – One for the infotainment and the other acts as a digital instrument cluster.
Other noticeable features include a camera to monitor driver fatigue, a 3-spoke steering wheel, and a Bose audio system. It is also worth mentioning that the gear selector is now mounted behind the steering wheel and this liberates more space in the central console.
Under the bonnet of the 2023 Hyundai Sonata is a 2.5-litre, turbocharged, petrol engine. This powertrain in the Sonata is tuned to produce 290bhp of peak power and 421Nm of peak torque. If this powertrain seems like an overkill, Hyundai is also offering a smaller 1.6-litre, turbocharged engine.
In addition to that, Hyundai is also offering AWD for the first time in the Sonata lineup. This gives the sedan not only an edge in performance, but it will also suit customers in the colder region as well.
Thoughts About The 2024 Hyundai Sonata
The 2024 Hyundai Sonata sedan looks very sporty and the model does not feel like a facelift compared to the previous iteration. In addition to that, the AWD system will help the automaker boost sales in colder regions.
