The upcoming Hyundai Ioniq 5 facelift is expected to be unveiled sometime next year.
Hyundai globally unveiled the Ioniq 5 in 2021. The EV was the first model to be based on the Hyundai Electric Global Modular Platform (e-GMP). After being on sale globally for close to two and half years, Hyundai is now working on its mid-cycle refresh.
Ahead of its unveiling, the first set of spy images of the Hyundai Ioniq 5 facelift has started doing the rounds. The spy images showcase a heavily camouflaged EV, although reports suggest that the car is expected to get just minimal revisions all around.
The Hyundai Ioniq 5 facelift could get a redesigned rear bumper, relocated parking sensors and a few revisions at the lower section of the front fascia as well.
The facelifted version is expected to carry forward the same powertrain options, although it is yet to be officially confirmed. The current Ioniq 5 comes with a choice of two battery options – a 58.2 kWh pack offering 354 km of range and a larger 77.4 kWh battery with 488 km of range.
Recently, Hyundai also introduced the full-blown ‘N’ version of the Ioniq 5. This performance version comes with a dual-motor powertrain producing 600 BHP and 739 Nm. It also gets a ‘N Grin Boost’ function, which boosts overall output to 641 BHP and 767 Nm for 10 seconds. The Hyundai Ioniq 5 N is capable of sprinting from 0 – 100 km/h in 3.4 seconds and attain a top speed of 259 km/h.
The upcoming Hyundai Ioniq 5 facelift is expected to be unveiled sometime next year. Prices for the new model will be announced at the time of launch.
