- As in 2023 there will be three races in the United States, in Miami (May 5), Austin (October 20) and Las Vegas (November 23, the third Saturday night race).
- China is set to return to the calendar for the first time since 2019 and has been pencilled in as the fifth round of the year, on April 21.
- There will be no new venues, with Emilia Romagna’s Imola also returning, after it was canceled last-minute in 2023 due to flooding.
Formula 1’s 2024 season will feature three Saturday night races, including the opener in Bahrain, with a record-breaking 24 grands prix scheduled.
Bahrain and Saudi Arabia will be the first two races, on March 2 and March 9 respectively, with both taking place on a Saturday night. This is to ensure that both events can be held prior to the start of Ramadan on March 10.

There will be no new venues, with Emilia Romagna’s Imola also returning, after it was canceled last-minute in 2023 due to torrential weather in the region.
The current 22 events on this year’s calendar all feature, though Belgium’s Spa-Francorchamps round remains subject to a one-year agreement being reached between Formula 1 and the promoter.
That is expected to materialize but will only cover 2024 as Formula 1 continues in its bid to return the championship to South Africa.
The biggest date changes involve Japan, Azerbaijan and Qatar.
Japan’s race at Suzuka will shift to April 7, as the fourth round, having been held in the fall since it joined the schedule in 1987. Azerbaijan will move to mid-September, forming a double-header with Singapore, in a move which Formula 1 says will aid its carbon footprint.
Qatar will move to being the penultimate round of the season, forming a tripleheader with Las Vegas and curtain-closing venue Abu Dhabi.
That creates a four-week gap across late September and early October, pushing the season finale in Abu Dhabi back to December 8.
There is due to be a single preseason test, held across three days, in Bahrain in late February.
